good day to you all
hows it going? guess what? im on my very OWN laptop right now sitting in a cafe with wifi...YAY it works! (for now)..
yesterday we had classes until 3 and then we rushed home, ate something, got ready, and went to mariinsky theatre! the ballet was so amazing.. there were some parts of it that were not that thrilling but most of it just took my breath away.. i mean i could really feel some emotion from the music and the dances.. it was just amazing thats all i can say. i think everyone should go see the ballet at least once in their lives..
there was one ballerina with a purple sparkly tutu that reminded me so much of cassidy! i really think she would love seeing the ballet and i hope i can take her to see one someday..
today rachel and i woke up at 5:30 am to run.. we decided that if we cant run after school (bc we're either way too tired or we dont get home until late) we'll run before school. i mean of course it REALLY stinks to get up that early but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. who knows if we'll be able to do it everyday but for now thats the plan..then i had language classes until 3 and then we went to smolny ..some government building that was pretty serious with their security .. we had a guard guy following our tour the entire time.. this place had alot about Lenin and another interesting thing about this place is that Kharkov was assinated in the building...
otherwise i'm very exhausted right now not only due to the fact that i got up at 5:30 but once again i havent been sleeping well here.. i've actually been quite homesick the past couple of days.. blah. wah wah wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. trying to tough it out. :(
so tomorrow is a big day over there in the US!
arianna is going to italy!! woo hooo! i hope you have a blast girl <3
andddd jessiccaaa is getting her wisdom teeth out :((((
so someone be nice and bring her some pudding!
jess, dont worry about going under its not anything to worry about! you'll be fine i promise!!!!

there are half eaten pigeons all over the place here.

ReplyDeleteOMG about the pigeons???!!!!!@#$%^$ What is that all about? Anyway... It was great to talk to youtoday. Please remember this is temporary and will be over before you know it so try and enjoy. It will be a long time before you get to do something like this again. Soak it all up good and bad and you will have memories that will last a life time!!! I think you and I should make it a priority to go to the ballet sometime together. That would be sweet. I remember when G-Pop took me to the opera I felt the same way. You can feel their emotions even though it was not a language I could understand. Its great when something is that powerfull.
I am starting to get excited about our vacation all together. It will be perfect timing.
Well it is another lonely night here. Mark is working and Frank went to Def Leapord concert. I was not feeling up to it so Johnny went in my place. Work is super busy so the days are flying by.
I will call and check on ya tomorrow. I love you and miss you very much.

What's up with the pigeons? THE DOGS ARE PROBABLY EATING THEM! Ballet is really beautiful. We should go see the Nutcracker by the Pennsylvania Ballet this winter! Of course, it's totally not the same as authentic Russian ballet, I'm sure haha. Glad you're seeing so many wonderful things. Try not to be too homesick. You're half finished already! It'll be over before you know it! You and your cousin are going to be a few countries closer together! That's way exciting. Maybe her proximity will help you feel a little better. Can't wait to hear about more wonderful things you see this week!

Do you know why the pigeons are half eaten? Is it the wild dogs that roam the city streets? Inquiring minds need to know. I'm so happy that you are experiencing the culture and art of Russia. I know you must be awfully homesick, we miss you too. I hope you find comfort in knowing you are always in our thoughts and you'll soon be home to warm hugs and kisses. Arianna is psyched! Italy watch out!

I know what you mean about the ballet, I barely remember going when I was younger with my mom but to go to one now would be lovely. I love getting that feeling from plays and such. I get so emotional! But eeeekkk those pigeons, gross dirty things. you're at the halfway mark! don't be homesick, enjoy EVERY SECOND! :) <33456
