ap-tyeck-ah = pharmacy

hi!

the reason i posted that word as my title is because i see it everywhere! just like in the USA, Russia also has pharmacys on EVERY corner!

i'm going to write a quick blog entry bc its been a crazy day here in SPb (not to worry though) its almost 11 pm here and i still have much to do so im going to make this one quick..

first of all i wanna tell you guys that i LOVE that your all reading and commenting my blog it makes me feel so much better and it gives me something nice to look forward to at some point in my day i really wanna answer you all and i will just not tonight maybe tomorrow or sometime this week..

im thinking of souvenirs! what would you guys be interested in!? there is plenty of alcohol i could bring home but i have a feeling some of you would rather have something more than just a bottle of vodka or everything else they sell here lol so please GIVE ME IDEAS! what would you like to see? what would you like me to bring home?

As for the picture situation one of the nice girls in the program is going to let me upload them to her laptop so i can post them. we just started classes today and we're in class from 9:30- 5 and it takes about an hour to get home to our "hotel" so i think the week days will be very busy but im going to try my best i know you guys are dying to see it!

ok i have to run now but i promise i'll be more detailed later!

Hugs & kiss
-M.

  1. pharmacies! oh my goodness!! they had a pharmacy on every street in france too! idk what their deal is...it's like, wawa's for us. haha.

im so glad to hear that you're finally settling in. don't worry about being homesick because before you know it, you'll probably not want to leave russia when your program comes to an end! enjoy it while it still lasts cuz it'll go by sooooo fast girl!

and as for the awkward language situations, i suggest you go through some magazines and cut and glue the images you might look for in shopping and carry around a small notebook with all those images and when you need it, flip to that page with that image and viola! hahaha. (i've never done it, but if you decide to, let me know how that goes...lol)

    miss you bunches!

  2. Don't worry about souvenirs, silly! Just take a gazillion pictures and enjoy yourself. What's the weather like there? It's 8:14pm here so I guess you're sleeping since it's like 4 in the morning there.

What classes are you taking? Do they speak English?

Glad your staying busy. Miss and love you!! Be safe.

  4. Hi Shell,
Although you know I love my vodka...Everyone is right...keep in mind time is the most precious gift; taking the time to share your stories is gift enough.

On another topic your Cuz won the South Jersey Girls Softball Un-sung Hero award. I'll share the nomination her coach wrote when I have a copy of it. Tearing up....sniffle...sniffle. So proud of my girl.

Proud of you too getting out of your comfort zone (usa) and allowing us to experience Russia through your stories.

Your friend Kasie is a smart girl. She has a great idea about the pictures as a way of communicating.

Well gotta go. Good luck at school and keep on blogging.
    Love,
    Aunt Reen
